Today a meeting was chaired by DM Dr. Chandrasekhar Singh to address different issues including One-way traffic system and encroachment in the city. Meeting was held at Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Auditorium and was attended by Mayor Darbhanga, Ward Counselors of Nagar Nigam, representatives from Chamber of Commerce, representatives from Auto, rickshaw and foot-path shop association who were especially invited for discussion.
DM started by asking representatives to put their major issues one by one. Auto association representative demanded rates to be fixed on which DM directed District Transport officer to take the necessary action. He also directed Nagar Nigam officer to ensure that required arrangements to be done so that auto rickshaw parking is done only at designated places.
Ward members put forward the necessity of having mortary and old aged home in the district. On the other issue members demanded that selling of meat, fish etc at roadside should be banned.
Other issues discussed included proper sewage and road arrangements in Bazar Samiti on which DM directed the concerned officer for necessary action. Speaking on the encroachment issue DM said that required action would be taken to ensure that encroachments are removed. He also asked BSNL representatives to ensure removal of unusable poles at earliest.
Harahi pokher and others would be cleaned and beautification would be done. Mayor Gauri Paswan said that Darbhanga is developing fast and Nagar Nigam continuously trying to make the city better.
DM Dr. Chandrasekhar Singh said that the todays meeting was quite useful and concerned officers has been asked to take necessary action on the issues raised by representative of different associations.
